Days #??

This has been a rough week! I don't even remember how Kayla did Thursday night any more. I think she was asleep by 10:15... then woke up a little after midnight, asking for milk... and then at some point in the wee hours was turned around so her head was hanging off the side of the bed and then managed to thrust herself off the bed (intentionally) where we have Libby's old dog bed strategically placed so Kayla doesn't lose even more brain cells. Then I think she played, read some books... and at 4 am I gave her a nebulizer treatment... and at some point she fell asleep on the floor next to me until it was time to wake up at 6:45 am.

Last night started off so well!! Kayla was asleep in her toddler bed by 9:15 pm. Wow! I thought, This is great, she's really catching on!! No luck. At midnight she woke up and started playing. Played and played and played until 4 a.m. I was asleep half the time, either on the floor, or trying to convince her to lay down on her bed. At one point she was on her bed, with me on the side, and she was playing with my hair. Those of you who know me, know that the texture of my hair isn't exactly silky smooth and I'm pretty sure Kayla pulled out a lot of hair too. She seemed to be entertaining herself pretty well on her bed, reading The Best Mouse Cookie Ever, so I laid down on the floor. Next thing I know, I am awoken by Kayla, who is piling on her styrofoam letter floor tiles on top of me. She moved every single tile from her shelf over to the space between me and her bed. Finally, at 4 am I got her to lay down next to me, where she slept until 8 a.m.

I think I am losing sensation in my left arm from sleeping in such strange and uncomfortable positions this week. The funny thing about this all is that when I try to show Kayla that it's time to go to sleep, she either gives me her stuffed baby toy or Piggy to hold, and she takes the other. We exchange Baby and Piggy throughout the night, depending on how many times she wakes up. Even when I fall asleep while she's still playing in the middle of the night, whenever I wake up, I usually have Piggy or Baby laying in front of my face. Too cute!
