Dear Kayla and Jocelyn,
This evening, after you went to bed, I made a quick trip to CVS. It was the first chilly night of the fall, and it was drizzling outside. On the drive back, I started craving a nice hot cup of hot cocoa. When I came home, I warmed up some milk in the microwave and then mixed in some of your Ovaltine.
Please don't get mad at me when you grow up and realize that Ovaltine malt is not the same as cocoa mix or Hershey's syrup. Trust me, I know it tastes different, and not in a good way. (I have never been a fan of malted chocolate or Whoppers, or whatever.) But please keep in mind that Ovaltine is supposed to be better for you because it has vitamins and stuff. And maybe you will both be Ovaltine lovers for the rest of your lives. But in the meantime, I love that you both love it, and that you always call it "chocolate milk" and that Daddy and I can bribe you to sleep quietly in your beds at night if we give you "chocolate milk" at breakfast.
Please forgive me. And remember this when you become parents someday.
Love,
Mommy
Won't it be weird that one day our kids might read our blogs? Well, urs are more likely since they are girls. J, typical boy, may not care that much ;). We should hang out again!
