a. A very hungry mommy who is craving pastries and other junk food right now even though she just ate lunch.
b. A frustrated mommy who wishes the baby would fall asleep and be content in her carseat for an hour so the mommy can run out to the supermarket and buy the junk food she's hankering (and of course, other groceries that need replenishing so the rest of the family has food to eat).
c. A new blog layout.
d. All of the above.
And the answer is.... D!
I've been tinkering with the blog all day long while hunched over Jocelyn and now my back hurts but I guess it's worth it because now our blog is pretty AND I figured out how to get a Flickr badge going in the right side bar. Was it worth the 4 hours I've spent on it today instead of writing out 10,584 thank you cards that are a month overdue? Probably not, but considering I can't even put Jocelyn down long enough to find the thank you cards, addresses and stamps, what else can I do?
While I'm here, I might as well post an update of this past weekend. It was a gorgeous day here in northern Virginia on Sunday and I wanted Kayla to get outside so she could explore all the flowers that have started to bloom. George had been working on the basement (as usual) while Kayla napped, so when she woke up, I thought I'd put Jocelyn in the Bjorn and take Kayla out for a walk and buy George some more valuable time. Well, that didn't work because Jocelyn was being... Jocelyn. Kayla was extremely patient while I got out the Bjorn and readjusted it (I hadn't used it since Kayla was a baby!) and tried to get Jocelyn in it. Finally, she was in and we headed out the door... and we made it down the two front steps when Jocelyn started wailing. I'm sure the neighbors who saw me thought I was nuts as I tried bouncing down the driveway to see if that would calm Jocelyn down. No luck. So I did my best to get Kayla back INSIDE the house to see if Jocelyn would like the sling better. Kayla was not happy about going back inside and SHE started having a meltdown. Now we had two girls crying and screaming. So I forced George to abandon his work in the basement. He took Jocelyn while I went walking with Kayla.
Someone PLEASE tell me that life gets easier soon!!
Anyway, I got some cute shots of Kayla with the flowers.

Gotta love that potbelly of hers.
Oh dear. I do love the new layout. It's very...child friendly. ;-D
ReplyDeleteAs for Jocelyn, I guess luck wasn't in the cards to have it so easy with two girls. hehe. If I was closer I would totally be there right now with a truckload of tasty goodies for you.
But for now you'll just have to settle for waiting until we have a chance to see you again! If George is still working on the basement, perhaps Mark can help things along. =D
