BOB Books & Drawings

This past school year was Jocie's first year at Montessori preschool (the same school Kayla attended for two years). I'm not a Montessori die-hard by any means, but those kids sure learn a lot, so there's definitely something to be said about the Montessori method. This past spring, Jocelyn's teacher started sending home BOB Books for her to read at home. I was skeptical that Jocelyn could actually read anything on her own, but the BOB books are perfect for beginning readers! Granted, there are only 3-letter words so the storyline isn't exactly NYT Bestsellers material, but little Jocie was able to sound out the 3-letter words all by herself with a little help from an adult. If you're not familiar with the BOB books series, here's what the first set looks like:

The line drawings are pretty cute, and Jocelyn seems to be quite "drawn" to them. This past week, she's been occupied with drawings that seem to resemble Sam:
2012 08 29012
2012 08 29008
2012 08 29011
2012 08 29002

Her drawings make me smile!
