Table Conversation with Kayla

Preface:  For the past several months, Kayla has been using the word "yucky" or "yuckies" to mean "hair."  As in, "There's a yucky in the bathtub!" or "There's a yucky stuck on my toy!"

Last weekend, Kayla and George were sitting next together eating at the dinner table. She looked over at George, at his cheek, and asked: Daddy, what's that? You have spots!

George: Spots on my face?
Kayla: Yes. You have two spots!
George: Those are freckles. I have freckles on my face. Do you have any freckles?
Kayla: (pointing to her upper lip) Right here.  (Looking back at George's face)  You have yuckies in your nose!
George: (trying to make sure she really meant to say "yuckies" and not "boogies")  I do?  Do you have yuckies in your nose?
Kayla: (smiling sheepishly) Nawww, I got boogies in my nose!

Epilogue: George later looked in a mirror and concluding that Kayla was indeed correct about the yuckies in his nose!
