I usually pick up the girls from day care after work. As I turn the car onto our street and we near our house, Kayla likes to announce in a sing-songy voice, "We're hooo-oooome! It's Kayla's house!"
So I ask, "What about Mommy? Where does Mommy live?"
Kayla: In the ocean.
Me: The ocean?!
Kayla: Yes. Mommy live in ocean.
I believe this misconception comes from one of the Animal Baby books she likes to read. In the book about Sally the Sea Otter, it starts off, "Meet Sally. Sally is a baby sea otter. Did you know that sea otters live in the ocean?
Me: Well, where's Mommy's house?
Kayla: Kayla's house. I share house with Mommy.
