On the other hand, Kayla also mixes up words. Particularly the syntax in her simple sentences. When I pick her up from day care, there are usually other parents picking up their kids at the same time. Kayla says bye-bye to her friends, and sometimes the parents will say bye to Kayla as well. Trying to teach Kayla how to be polite, I tell her, "Kayla, say bye-bye to Nora's mommy," and Kayla will wave and say, "Bye-Bye mommy Nora!" When we get to the car, I strap Kayla in her car seat first and Jocelyn second (since Jocelyn isn't mobile yet and can't run amok in the parking lot). While I buckle her, Kayla will sometimes point to Jocelyn's car seat base and say, "Baby seat car! Mommy put Jocelyn seat car!"
My favorite jumbled up phrase, though, has to do with the Bumbo seat. Jocelyn started on rice cereal a few weeks ago and for now we've been putting her in the Bumbo to feed her. Kayla will watch as I mix up Jocelyn's milk and cereal and then say, "Baby sit bumblebee!" I tell her, "You mean Bumbo," and Kayla says, "Oh yah, sit bumblebee!" This afternoon, Kayla needed a diaper change but insisted that Piggy get a diaper change first. After the diaper change business was all done, Kayla was eating raisins and decided to feed Piggy. Naturally, Piggy had to sit in the Bumbo.

Kayla proudly proclaimed, "Look! Look! Piggy sit bumblebee!!"
This photo has nothing to do with anything but I just thought it was cute! I took multiple shots but sadly do not have one with everyone looking at the camera without Kayla stuffing her mouth with food.
