More things...

7. Kayla saying "poi-ka-lee" for the longest time and it took us forever to ask day care and figure out that she was referring to the "Hercules" preview at the beginning of Beauty and the Beast.

8. Kayla's "collection seption," inspired by Don the Pteranadon on Dinosaur Train, who has a collection of things like dinosaur teeth and feathers. Kayla's collection is a bunch of Gerber baby spoons and toys utensils from the play kitchen. She insists on sleeping with her collection every night, especially the yellow baby spoon.

9. Kayla sleeping with a thousand random toys in her bed, from foam letter tiles, to matchbox cars, to a pair of socks that she affectionately calls her "pie."

10. The "haystack" under the basement steps, thanks to Gossie and Gertie.

11. "3-2-1, ba-bump-ba-bump!"

12. How readily Jocelyn shares her toys with her big sister (while big sister doesn't always reciprocate). Jocelyn is always so generous with her hugs and kisses.

13. How Jocelyn is very particular about putting things where they belong. She will pick up that tiny piece of trash, hold it up to you and ask, "Gnnhhh?" (Trash?) "Yes, you can throw it away." And she toddles over to the trash can. Clothes -- if she sees dirty clothes on the floor, she'll put them in the hamper. If there are some clothes that aren't completely in the hamper and hanging off from the sides, she will push them in. If the hamper isn't in its proper location or orientation (the corner of Kayla's room, facing out), she will use all her little toddler strength, grunting and pushing and turning, until it's back in the right spot. Halloween candy -- call us bad parents, but we've been allowing the girls one piece of candy every day when we get home. Jocelyn picked a mini Crunch bar, and when she was done with it, held up the wrapper to George. He asked her to throw it away (there was a temporary trash can, a.k.a. plastic grocery bag hanging from the doorknob) and she put her wrapper inside. When Kayla was done with her Kit Kat bar, Jocelyn picked up the wrapper and put it in the trash without asking. Socks -- on friday afternoon we all got home at the same time. Jocie likes to take her socks off as soon as the shoes go off, no matter if it's a chilly day. She wanted to pull Kayla's socks off, and then proceeded to take George's and mine off. All socks were promptly transported to the hamper in the bathroom.

  1. From the last one on this list, Jocelyn sounds like a Montessori kid. XD My sister was the same way: very particular about things going in their rightful place.
